Technisat HDFS box ts4 file conversion
« am: Dezember 01, 2010, 00:07:46 »
Hello,
I am looking for software that can work with ts4 files that I've recorded with my Technisat HDFS box.
I downloaded the trial version of your software and opened a ts4 file with it. Unfortunately, it did not seem to be able to work with the file. The software told me that the file was "Invalid transport Steam Format" and asked if I wanted to continue.
I clicked on "Yes" but the software stopped on the PMT scan with "PMT invalid".

I checked the log file and found lots of "TS  ERROR: Invalid paket $00000029! Error: sync_byte_error" entries, followed by:

Too many errors skipping log entries!

Scan aborted (too many errors) !

The last section of the log read:

No valid PAT found!
--- PAT/PMT creation mode ---
Creating new PAT for PMT PID $00B1

----------- PAT 0 -----------
PacketCount              : 0
Table ID                 : 0

Found 1 different PATs
Found 1 different PMT PIDs
Creating new PMT PID $00B1
PCR for selfmade PMT: $18E5
PCR for selfmade PMT: $09CB
New PMT: No video stream found error!
New PMT: No audio stream found error!
PMT could not be build!

I was hoping that your software could help me with my Technisat HDFS .ts and .ts4 files....is this behavior expected? It says on your site that the software supports ts4 files. Is this error due to possible encryption by the Technisat box?

Any suggestions would be most helpful!
Thanks

to me, it looks pretty much like there is something missing:

Zitat
New PMT: No video stream found error!
New PMT: No audio stream found error!

im not really sure if its possible to manually choose the video and audio PIDs, but thats definately something Cypheros might be able to tell you.
Either way - have you already tried running different recording settings on your technisat device?

I do run the technisat dvbviewer in combination with a technisat skystar hd2 and have lots of options to play with when recording a dvb-s(2) stream, so you might give it a go as well and see what you can do about it ;)

Hi,

Technisat recordings tending to have no PMT and no PAT. So the TS-Doctor tries to recreate the important system tables. To do this the TS-Dcotor needs the detect the stream types. The video stream has something special so the TS-Doctor failes to detect the video stream.

Is it possible that you send me a sample of 10 to 20 MB of the beginning of the stream? You can use the RawCutter to create such a sample.

Send it to support(at)cypheros.de

Hi, thanks for the samples.

I have investigated them and found out that they are encrypted. It seams to be normal for the Technisat HDFS that all recordings are encrypted.
Look here: http://www.avforums.com/forums/freesat/1021904-technisat-hdfs-6.html

So the TS-Doctor message "Invalid transport Stream Format" it absolutly true.
