Hi,
I just updated from 2.0.21 to 2.0.24. However this new version (0.24) does not make an SRT file.
TS-Doctor (0.24) finds teletext and subtitles and even the right page (888 on BBC4).
The fixed .ts file still retains the teletext subtitle stream which works fine in VLC.

I uninstalled version 2.0.24 and installed 2.0.16 and now everything works fine with the 0.16 version. I have a perfect SRT file with subtitles.
It would seem to indicate that the version 2.0.24 detects teletext subtitles but does not make the requested SRT file.

Any idea what has gone wrong ?

Cypheros

OK, I'll check that. It seems BBC is handling the subtitles a bit different than Sky UK.

Mam

I can see no problem with the subs, my last recording was on BBC2 last night:

1
00:00:03,220 --> 00:00:04,980
For Victorian Britons,

2

May it be that you are recording the wrong channel? There are several BBC-xs on the Sat on different transponders (and different Names too), not all of them contain all sound / ttx / dvb-s streams!

DocKeeper

Hi,
I'm recording BBC4 HD. It contains teletext subtitles on page 888, all TS-Doctor versions, e.g. 0.16, 0.21 and even 0.24, detect that.
It would seem that something has been changed in the 0.24 version that somehow makes it think the teletext subtitles are not correct.
Using an older version ,0.16, works fine which would indicate that there is something not quite right in 0.24.

Cypheros

Yes there is a regession in 2.0.24 causing teletext subtitles to be ignored because BBC4 is not using a header for the teletext like other channels. Maybe other channels suffers the same problem. This issue will be fixed soon with version 2.0.25 where TS-Doctor detects how channels formating their teletext subtitles.

Hi Cypheros,
Many thanks for the confirmation and feedback.
It seems BBC4 is indeed a strange beast, I-Frames that are not really I-Frames and now teletext without headers.....
Anyway, keep up the good work... and looking forward to 0.25

Mam

hmmm, sorry folks, i can't agree with you ???

this is the output from today's "locomotion: Dan Snow's history..." recording from BBC-4 HD:

No Problems with TTX (but 80 errors in the Dolby Audio Track!, not normal, but we have a serious storm here currently and all errors were within a single second, so mayb it was just an accidentally strong blow of wind)

Even IF there is something strange with BBC4, the .24 version still produces valid SRTs out of the TTX found.
If DocKeeper has problems, there must be something else wrong in his environment or settings.

Cypheros

Subtitle problems should be fixed in new version 2.0.25 .
