Titel: Normalise audio level
Beitrag von: jaydear am April 03, 2022, 07:19:32
I would very much like to be able to normalize the audio level of all the clips I save in the cutting window. The only setting I require is peak level below full scale, say -0.5 /-6.0 /-12.0 dBFS. Note that I'm only talking about automatic audio peak level setting, not compression or limiting. Can you add this feature please?

As we currently have so many different audio formats like MP2, MP3, AC-3, EAC-3, AAC, HE-AAC, AC-4, such a feature would be very complicated and needs the complete reencoding of all audio streams. If no compression is implemented, there is a high risk of clipping and other distortions.

Some newer codecs like EAC-3, AAC, HE-AAC and AC-4 are heavily protected by patents. I would have to purchase appropriate decoders and encoders and the necessary licenses.
