[Solved] Sound or image lost after cutting

Hi Cypheros,

I am a new comer on this forum. I am testing your great software.

Based in France I am used to record DVB as well as videos from my box.

I would like to let you know that I share the same concerns as Holmes. If  I edit the video removing
commercials the scenes after do slutter.

I tested 1.1.7 and then the beta versions,  even the last one has got the same problem (1.1.12).
The channel I recorded is RTL9   (mpg4-avc  h264).

Hi Cypheros,


Last version 1.1.14 is just out.  I've just tried it and unfortunately it seems the problem is the same:

after the first commercial cut the video slutter.

tsmuxer version is 1.10.6
ffddshow version is 11/04/2011 rev 3814

I use VLC player version 1.1.9

Is there something incomptatible somewhere? is there a special configuration to set up?

If I can help sending samples let me know.

Hi,

a short sample would be fine.
What options for the "correction behavior" do have selected?
Can you see the stuttering if you open the cutted file with the TS-Doctor or does it only appears with VLC player?

The selected options are:
no teletext
no subtitles
prefer cutting before cut out point
prefer 5.1
ask is needed
consider I/P frame for cutting

If I try to read the ouput file with TS doctor video freezes after the cutting point however audio continues.

thanks for the sample. Found the reason for the lost video.

Before the cut the PCR/PTS is: 10:56:38.267/10:56:39.224 (video stream)
The next packet has PCR/PTS: 10:56:38.341/11:00:41.704 (video stream)

It looks like 4 minutes of commercials are cutted out but only the PCR and the audio PTS was corrected the right way. For an unknown reason the PTS correction rountine seams to ignore the video PTS.

Could you send me this part of the recording before you cutted out the commercials? I could investigate the reason for this strange behavior and find a solution to fix it for the future.

I will send you a PM with a FTP login to my server, so you can upload the file if it's too big for email.
