So imagine you are removing ads from a recorded film. You have worked your way through say 4 ad breaks and set the points in the Cutting Window, so that you have 5 segments. When you return to the main window you realise you have missed a break. So you go back to the Cutting Window and find the extra break in the first segment.
So the question is: What is the most efficient way to add the extra break and create 6 segments in the correct order?

Mam

The process is easy, but not very intuitive, just follow this orders:

a) move to the new "cut out" point within the desired segment
b) "set a mark" (with the icon, or by hitting the "x" key)
c) move to the new "cut in" point
d) you can set another mark here, but its not needed, so skip d)
e) hit the now available icon with the scissors right next to the "set a mark" icon

done
The described actions will insert a cutted out area within the segment, dividing it into 2 parts and moving all following segments accordingly.

Easy, eh?  8)

As you say - easy when you know!
thanks very much
