About Prepare patching

I have read chapter 6 "Patch" of the User Manual and I have a question:

1 because I usually save the movies on a NAS, after cutting commercial breaks,
deleting the movies from the HD of my Dreambox, without the requirement of TSMuxer or H264Cutter,
I mean that is not necessary to push on the button "Prepare to pathing".

2- if in any case is useful to patch, must be done before to save the movie?

1. No, not needed
2. Yes if you want to patch, you have to do it before you create a new file but you can do it as often as you wish. So you can even patch the values back to their old setting.
